Sunset Healthcare Solutions, Inc. addresses critical market gap with launch of pediatric Ray Full Face Non-Vented Mask

Sunset Healthcare Solutions Inc. today announced the launch of its Ray Pediatric Non-Vented Full Face Mask. The new Non-Vented Ray Mask solves a critical market gap as the only pediatric branded full face non-vented mask in the market.

“The addition of the non-vented Ray mask is the result of two years of development shaped by customer feedback and staff initiative,” says Mark Lipson, Acute Care General Manager at Sunset Healthcare Solutions.

With over 15 years of pediatric acute care experience as a respiratory therapist and clinal educator, Sunset’s Krystle Bodine BS, RRT was a driving force behind the product’s development.

“This mask will be a valuable addition to the RT’s toolkit,” says Bodine. “The Ray mask finally provides pediatric patients with a properly fitting FDA-cleared mask instead of an undersized adult mask, which forces providers to swap out elbows or default to total face masks. It also streamlines care by eliminating the need to switch masks for aerosolized medication delivery, saving time and reducing disruption. As a non-vented mask, it can be used with critical care dual-limb ventilators and supports NIV modes that were previously unavailable with the Ray vented version or other pediatric full face masks. Ultimately, the Ray non-vented masks help prevent intubation or re-intubation,” she says.

While the Ray non-vented mask is compatible with dual-limb circuits, it can be adapted for single-limb systems with an exhalation valve, offering flexibility across care environments. Its optimized fit and system versatility may support more effective therapy delivery while helping streamline supply utilization by reducing the need for multiple mask types per patient.
